Superior Machine Co. of S.C., Inc. (Superior) announces the award of an order from ArcelorMittal to upgrade the electric arc furnace offgas system at its Steelton, Pa. mill.

Superior will begin the design phase of the drop out chamber and downcomer section of the water cooled ductwork within the next few weeks and schedule production release currently estimated for an early 2010 delivery.   The project requires a special hydraulically actuated pivot mechanism to facilitate improved access and throughput for scrap charging Steelton’s 150 ton EAF.

Superior has decades of experience in the design, production and installation of water cooled components and systems for electric furnace offgas systems.
