Marion Machine Works was founded in 1934 by the late Joe McNeill as a small welding and repair shop doing primarily buildup welding and grinding to power shovel teeth. As the mineral mining industry grew in the area so did Marion Machine. Joe's reputation for providing quality repairs at a fair price and the willingness to do whatever was required to keep the mining operations working soon brought him the recognition of being the leader in the crusher and equipment repair business.  During the construction of the Blue Ridge Parkway he was developing relationships and contacts with customers we still do business with today. As the national Interstate Highway System was being built the demand for crushed stone and other aggregate products increased dramatically. Marion Machine continued to grow and expand soon getting the attention of the equipment manufactures. They were beginning to see the need for a quality shop to do rebuilds and repairs to their equipment to save the customers from the expense of shipping their equipment back to the factories. This was the birth of the factory authorized repair center, having access to drawings, specifications, and factory parts assured the customer that his rebuilt equipment would perform as well as it did when it was originally sold to him. This has been a mission that we to this day strive to meet.  We are now the only shop in North America that represents all the major crusher manufactures as an Authorized Repair Facility. In the spring of 1982 the expertise and capabilities of Marion Machine and Superior Machine of Florence, S. C. were combined. This joining of personnel and equipment has more than tripled the output capabilities of the company. We look forward to exceeding our customer's expectations well into the new century.
